Mysore Yoga CPH - Astanga Yoga - Copenhagen - København - FrederiksbergActor and director. Started Astanga yoga in 2012 at MYC.

Why did you start practicing?

Years ago a good friend and colleague had showed me some basic Astanga sequences. First I got curious and after trying it myself, I was hooked.

What are the benefits of the practice for you?

Regular practice has improved my physical fitness level remarkably, as well as contributed to a general sense of well-being. Each practice makes me feel better and calmer, and that trickles out into the rest of my life.

What inspires you to keep practicing?

It seems to be a never-ending learning process. It’s certainly not easy, and over these first years of practice I have found that as much as things improve there are also challenges on the way. Perhaps my most important gradual finding has been to learn to accept that there’s no hurry. And rushing doesn’t lead anywhere. That’s why it’s called a practice, not performance, and among the other things it cultivates patience. Continuous and never-ending learning makes showing up on the mat again and again inspiring and highly rewarding.
